How to connect a personal Telegram number
The personal Telegram integration connects your own account, not a bot. BotB2B signs in as one more device, by QR code, and the AI replies from your name in direct messages, groups and channel comments. No Telegram Premium is needed, and you decide exactly where the bot may speak.
This is a session of your personal account. Telegram limits unusual activity, so the platform keeps safe pauses between messages and daily limits on its own. Do not use the connected account for mass outreach.
Connect the account
- 1
Pick Telegram (personal number) in the catalog
Front Desk → Accounts → Add account. Choose the card Telegram (personal number) with the description "Your number: bot replies in private chats".
- 2
Show the QR code
The Connect personal Telegram dialog explains: "Sign in with a QR code. After connecting, assign bots separately for DMs, groups, and comments." Press Show QR code.
- 3
Scan the code from your phone
On the phone open Telegram → Settings → Devices → Link Desktop Device and scan the code on the screen. The code lives a short time; if it expires, close the dialog and start again.
- 4
Enter the 2FA password if asked
If two-step verification is on in your Telegram, the dialog asks for your cloud password: "Two-step verification is enabled. Enter your Telegram cloud password." Type it and press Confirm.
The account then appears in the Accounts list with the tabs Bot assignment, Groups, Settings, Statistics and Access.
Where the bot replies
On the Bot assignment tab a personal account has three separate switches, each with its own bot: Reply in direct chats, Reply in groups and Reply in channel comments. You can assign one bot to all three or different bots, for example a sales bot for DMs and a support bot for the community group.
- Only in new chats (for DMs): the bot replies only when a new person writes with no prior history, and does not step into conversations that are already going
- Max messages in chat on incoming: limits how long the bot keeps a DM going before it hands over to you
- Only when the account is @mentioned and Only when replying to the bot's message (for groups): if both are off, the bot answers every message in allowed groups
- Which groups to reply in: all groups the account belongs to, or only those switched on in the Groups tab
The bot never replies to your own messages, in DMs, groups or comments. If you answer a person yourself, the AI stays quiet in that conversation.
Groups tab
The Groups tab lists every group and channel of the account: where it is a member, where messages come from and where the bot replies. Press Sync to load the list from Telegram, switch Auto-reply on for the groups you need, or add a group manually by link or @username. Leave exits the chat in Telegram while keeping the message history in BotB2B.
Account protection
The Settings tab shows the Account protection block: automatic guards that reduce the risk of Telegram blocking the account. Daily outbound limits grow with the account's trust level, sending slows down at night, sudden spikes and duplicate texts are blocked, and the account occasionally takes a day off. We recommend keeping them on. The Send queue below shows what is waiting, sending or failed.
The account says "Reconnection required"
The session ended: you logged out or terminated it in the Telegram device list. Press Reconnect on the account card and scan a new QR code.
Will people see that I am online all the time?
No. The connected device does not change your online status; the account behaves as with any other logged-in desktop.
Personal number or Telegram Business?
If you have Telegram Premium and only need DMs, Telegram Business is the officially supported way. The personal number works without Premium and also covers groups and comments. See the comparison in the Telegram Business guide.
